I'm pretty sure the polite applause he gets when he plays that crossfield pass to the right-back is a recording they play over the speakers. He would struggle to get into most PL sides these days. The media still adores him, though, so one good game in twenty and suddenly he's world class again.

van der Hoorn was alright in the games he played. Better than Bartley was as 3rd/4th choice CB. Baston was a massive waste of money. £15m for a striker when you've already bought Llorente. Madness. Who did Kaputska sign for? He looked alright in the Euros.

The goal is probably to use a wingback to give a guy like Eriksen space to deliver a variety of passes, rather than hope Kane decides he wants to head in a bunch of crosses next season. Trippier's first time delivery is really good so Kane won't need to be battling defenders for balls floated into a packed penalty area. His idiot savant box-foxery will get him plenty of goals from that side.
