Still, at least it gave the game one female character. I don't think women pilots appeared in the Star Wars movies until The Force Awakens, or maybe Naboo pilots in Phantom Menace (been a long, long time since I've seen that).

I'm fairly sure one of the squadron leaders at the Battle of Endor was a woman, but I can't quite recall which one right now.

I remember seeing a whole bunch of cut stills from the first movie of women pilots. Course, I could've been mistaken.

So, bored and stuff, I looked at some of the pilots in ROTJ because I was sure I remembered seeing a female Y-wing pilot. So far, I HAVE spotted a Female A-Wing pilot who was dubbed over with a man's voice.

Those cut bits were re-used in Rogue One and there was at least one woman in Blue Squadron.

That was the one I was thinking of, I think.

Yup, Escape from Fest is the mission that gave me a lot of trouble getting gold as a kid. I was always afraid to run out ahead of the AT-PTs because it seemed like I'd always miss a tank droid (that's what they're called in the manual, tank droids) and even a tank droid will kill an AT-PT if you leave it alone for ten or fifteen seconds. And I think the bombers one-shot them.

Battle Over Taloraan is my favorite mission from this game, though. Pretty map and inventive scenery. Also can confirm, the civilian gas tanks don't count towards friendly saves. There's only one friendly save in the mission, that Corellian corvette that you're more or less escorting throughout the mission. The TIEs will destroy it if you aren't sharp about picking them off.

It has a ton of HP though, or rarely gets shot at. I think the only time(s) I've seen it get destroyed are when I was bored and blew it up myself :v:

I think I had troubles with that mission in general as a kid. I have the phrase "Rogue Squadron where's our cover-Aaaargh!" imprinted in the back of my mind because of that mission more or less.

Wow, I never realized that Rogue Squadron II just lifted the Taloraan mission direct from the first game but just reversed your objective (you've got to save the platforms, not destroy them) and set it on Bespin. That's hilarious.

Same. I really didn't like that mission, though admittedly I wasn't too good at the game.

Is that perspective playing tricks, or does Moff Seerden have an incredibly large transport ship?

It's normal sized.

If you think Fest looks hard now, imagine trying to do it as an 8 year old. I'm pretty sure I cried at least once trying to beat a mission- I did that with most games back then.

The best thing to do is revisit an old game you couldn't beat and beat it!

That's what I did with a buddy after he said he never beat Double Dragon. Sure, it was freeplay but it was the arcade version so we were justified.

Edit: Also, AFAIK, that's a normal sized transport. Seerdon may have modified other things though?

I figured it was like that living wall from Half Life 2 and it was going to smush the city. A wall that builds other walls, only a Sith could create such a monstrosity.

Incidentally, the repulsorlift thing about the snowspeeder is born out in the game - if you fly low enough to the ground, the repulsorlift kicks in and you fly at a set minimum height. It's also why in replay mode the third of the usual three fighters available to replay the mission with isn't available for Taloraan - it's another repulsorlift ship (albeit one much better than the snowspeeder), and Taloraan is a gas giant so there's no planetary surface for the repulsorlift to work on.
