What inspired the field switch into addiction counseling? E.g. did you have personal experience with addiction prior to going into that field? (If too personal, feel free to disregard the question) This is an extremely broad question, but very interested in your perspective on this: what key factors, based on your experience, lead to addiction? What is key for recovery? Psychological factors, social support, environmental exposure, etc.
