And there's more. We had four scripts in development when I arrived in LA last week, but by the time I left we had five. We have added a fifth writer to the original four. No, I will not reveal the name here. HBO announced the names of the first four, and will no doubt announce the fifth as well, once his deal has closed. He's a really terrific addition, however, a great guy and a fine writer, and aside from me and maybe Elio and Linda, I don't know anyone who knows and loves Westeros as well as he does. This year, Dave Hill is a writer on the pilot.

I figured it out. The spinoff will follow a group of soldiers in post-apocalyptic Westeros, trying to maintain order and stability in a ravaged land. This year, Ed Sheeran is the main character.

“We had an assistant named Dave Hill,” say Benioff and Weiss. “One day last summer he walked into our office and said, ‘You know that kid whose family emigrated from England? The one who runs to Virginia to witness the execution of John Brown?’ ‘Yeah?’ ‘Well,’ said Dave, ‘doesn’t it make sense that he’d stay in the Union and become an actor? Where else is he going to go?’ ‘You’re right,’ we said. ‘That does make sense.’ ‘And what if during a play, he’s the one who ends up killing Lincoln?’ This year, Dave Hill was hanged for treason.

Zippy the Bummer posted:if people actually watched the god drat show instead of spending half of it typing away on their phones it might avoid so much bullshit confusion I just rewatched season 6 and I got to ask... what was the point of that baby scene? There's the scene where Young Ned goes into the tower and meets his sister (?) and she hands him something -- Robert's crown I assume? Then there's this random cut to a baby for a few seconds, and then it cuts to a Jon scene for some reason. Who was that baby? Is the baby going to be turned into a WW? Is the baby part of Bran's vision for some reason??? Is it baby Khaleesi? Is this some artsy symbolic thing that I'm too dumb to understand? Please help me understand. This is all so confusing.
