From the spaceflight thread, though it's a bit of a downer: On which two missions were the Space Shuttle solid rocket boosters not recovered and reused?

STS-51L, Challenger's last flight and STS-4, Columbia's fourth flight, the last 2-man test flight of the system, in 1982 -- the SRB parachutes failed, so they hit the water a bit too hard and sunk. 20+ years later, Columbia was lost on reentry, well after the SRBs from the launch of its last flight were back in the shop.
