Hummingbirds are probably my favorite thing in the world. My parents live in the Sierra Nevada foothills and must live on a flyway or something because they get squadrons of Anna's Hummingbirds throughout the year, and Rufous and Calliope hummingbirds during the migration season. Anna's hummingbirds are aeronauts that put Top Gun instructors to shame and they're one of the few species to have expanded their habitat along with human population growth since they have no fear of humans and will happily pig out in suburban gardens or crowded public parks.
