Yesterday (Mother's Day) I had the express pleasure of spending some time with my family. I thought it might be fun to post my family tree, in the form of who they are racist / bigoted against. I have listed the races / groups in order of who they are MOST prejudiced against. For example, my dad is only mildly racist against African Americans. Father

Half my family is chill progressive, the other half ranges from "You don't want to be the only white guy in the neighborhood" racist to "All thugs and MOSLEMS must die!" racist.

most of my immediate family are horrible misanthropes, though my mother makes an exception to her seething hatred of humanity for children only. the rest of us hate children all the more to compensate.

I thought this thread is like using ancestry.com or if your lds, familysearch (free). On my mom's side, they were legit slave holders and set their slaves free when they joined the lds church. Also on my mom's side, one of my ancestors captured an Indian girl and made her his wife.

Over thanksgiving din my aunt expressed her distrust of the Hmong, who apparently just now started flooding her suburban/sub-rural town of 60,000. Surely a responsible candidate like Trump didn't just trigger this meaningless indignation. The reality is even if they weren't with the first wave in the 1970's they likely have been in town for at least two decades Its like the political climate is awakening racism in people. This was a surprising and strange twist on racism I already was aware of. Racism is always pretty unbecoming and baffling, but this particular racism was just like...what? Anecdotal evidence to me, at least, that this Trump era has ushered in a kind or racism the scholars aren't even ready for.
