I'm doing my best to grab whatever's on the way, or occasionally going out of my way to grab anything that I know will be a massive timesaver, so that I don't end up with hour-long videos that are just pure cleanup right at the end. It works well I think. Getting done what you can to save time later is probably a good idea. The Lego games have a problem of not enough unlockables and secrets being frontloaded so it's a good idea to get at least some of it out of the way.
