Killy has been travelling so long he's just plain forgotten most of the things he's experienced. At the start of the story he can't even remember how his own HUD works until his memory gets a jolt while fighting around Toha Heavy Industries. I suspect this is also why he's a man of few words-- even aside from being a :geno:

most of the time, he probably has to relearn the language every century or so.
