The Olsen twins would be perfect for real/doppelganger Michelle Tanner plot lines. We need to convince Lynch that this isn't his swan song.

So is there anything in season 3 so far that's like the red room scenes at the end of season 2? Should I watch any of season 3 or should I just go rewatch that?

Full disclosure, watched all of season 1 and season 2 after seeing the red room poo poo out of context. But I remember finding it barely watchable.

I'd say watch Fire Walk With Me first. If you don't like that then you probably won't like the new show.

It's Lynch's farewell run. We're gonna see a lot of stupid poo poo. Brace yourself son, we're but a mad geniuses whim away from seeing Trent Reznor bottle feed a full grown iguana. People will analyze and confound and Lynch will smile and know that the only purpose of that scene was to make you off-balance for the next one.

The first episode was awesome and is the best episode of the show so far. Episode 4, on the other hand, is some of the worst TV I've ever seen.

See, this is why I love Twin Peaks. I've liked every episode so far, but thought episode 4 was the one that felt the most like the old series. There's already something for every kind of Lynch fan and we still have 14 more episodes to go!!!

I wouldn't go that far. It's filled with morons trying to solve "the mystery" which is not what Lynch films/shows are about. You can't solve them because he doesn't breadcrumb hints into his shows to do that sort of thing. How would you have "solved" the original Twin Peaks? Up until they showed Leland murdering his niece you'd have no idea he was the killer. In fact there was ample evidence for almost every other character.

What would you call them? "Oh what's all this interesting stuff, I just like to ship Audrey and Cooper hurrrrr"

I call them my friends that loved the original series, but gave up on this show so now I'm the only one watching it week to week. I wouldn't say it was a bait and switch, but I can understand getting turned off the new show if you're not interested in whats going on, or if you're interested in a plot that was introduced in the first two episodes, but hasn't been touched since.

The theoretical Twin Peaks fan who loves the original show but is just in it for coffee and pie memes and is totally alienated by the Showtime show doesn't exist, it's just another creation by goons who love the idea of someone being offended by the things they enjoy.

Actually, they're my friends. We even had a big viewing parties and everything for the first 6 episodes. They're all just waiting to binge it now.

It's the GBS Twin Peaks thread. If you want people discussing the deeper meanings of a Nine Inch Nail video being put in an episode there is the TVIV thread. GBS hasn't liked anything new since 2002.

No one has explained what they are dissatisfied with beyond "boring." Seems weird.

There's too many plates spinning and he's wasting too much time on introducing hundreds of new characters all of which have done next to nothing. There's a murder mystery in South Dakota that has moved exactly one scene in 6 hours. There's a young girl and her drug addled boyfriend that have been seen for exactly one shot in 8 hours. A child was hit by a car and killed and that has had three scenes dedicated to it total.

None of the original characters from the first series have done anything of note, nothing of import has happened in the overall narrative, and none of the new characters are engaging or entertaining in any way. Besides Lynch himself, none of the cast has had the strength of writing or screen time to grow their characters. Compare these 8 episodes to the first season of Twin Peaks.

That's just some of the problems I have with it, and I actually enjoy the new show.

Oh I'm sure the last two episodes are going to be amazing, but this season may be another season 2 kind of situation where I can watch the first 4 episodes, skip a big chunk, and then watch the last 4 episodes. We'll see where he goes with it, I have faith in Lynch to make me feel uncomfortable watching a TV show if nothing else. And that's worth tuning into each week.

What a wet fart of an episode. I guess good Cooper has shocked himself back from retardation?

Ed and Norma got together finally. Shelly's kid's husband shot himself. The gangster got killed which means the white trash hit squad is gonna be after Dougie/Coop next. Douggie probably just fixed himself. Richard met his dad (maybe). Booper hung out with David Bowie who got turned into a tea kettle. We got to see Glove Guy Freddie punch people. Log Lady died and gave the final hint to Hawk. And a small woman screamed in a bar.

It was a great episode.
