Zeris posted:

Guns are more entrenched in society than free speech. Guns aren't going anywhere.

which is the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk IRT police and de-escalation.

Guns are so entrenched in the psyche of Americans that cops get to use "i just wanna make it home to MUH FAMILY" excuse.

Which if you think about it long enough, should NOT fly in a country of around 9 million registered gun owners, with a strong gun ownership culture.

officer yanez starts panicking AS SOON AS Castile informed he had a weapon. Watch the video and you'll see his hands start reaching for the weapon and his stance shifts to alarmed. As if its beyond the pale that a driver in Minnesota of all places will be carrying a weapon in the car.

At the point of castile informing he had a weapon, Yanez AND HIS PARTNER had many chances and means to de-escalate the situation, and safely give Castile his ticket and everyone is on their way.

Instead, he reacted with the bravery of Scooby Doo and an innocent man is dead because of it.

I love DeBlasio for the fact that the NYPD hates him with a burning passion.
