And are you seriously arguing that the SAFE Act was just about seizing firearms, rather than providing better oversight?

You seem awfully focused on only the 'siezure' portion, since the SAFE act DID provide ways to safely and legally own firearms.

The SAFE act is not what you want to use as a good gun control act it was a loving disaster.

My favorite is when it made every police officer in NYS a felon and none of the legislators noticed . Other totally unintended side effects included things like letting your (non-assault) rifle or shotgun registration lapse in NYC turn from a violation to a felony.

The real cherry on the sundae was when the safe act website had a picture of a semi-automatic hunting rifle with five round detachable magazine and muzzle break labeled "this is not an assault rifle" even as the SAFE act defined it as an assault rifle.

The SAFE act is a total clusterfuck.

There's a big mismatch between the civil ROE of most police departments and the criminal statues. Some departments will fire officers who are found not guilty in shootings although it is very rare. I think Milwaukee has done it. The NYPD was moving to fire the officer who shot Ramarley Gharam when the officer resigned.

The supreme Court ruling states that an officer is allowed to use dealt physical force when they have probably cause to believe deadly physical force is shoot to her used against them or another person.

Even now in those other anglo countries you are seeing mass casualty incidents with the tools available because the immigration wave is causing a cultural clash. Granted they are less successful because stabbing people is actually hard to do.

I'm not advocating shutting off immigration or anything dumb like that. It's that immigrant populations need to be welcomed into the dominant society ASAP and not allowed to founder as an underclass.

look until you admit that the wide availability of firearms to just about everyone with basically zero restrictions short of "actually a convicted felon or involuntarily committed for being mentally ill" just might possibly have something to do with all the massacres you're basically jumping through hoops to explain why the body count associated with our hobby can't actually be blamed on our hobby.
