In their defence, it's pretty hard to make a well balanced fighting game that can't be broken with cheap tactics like "stunlock opponent with fast combo".

This game, particularly the "fighting while on your back" mechanic, was probably inspired by the real life story of Muhammad Ali vs Japanese pro wrestler Antonio Inoki. That fight was also considered an embarrassing stain on the name of fighting sports.

Wait, so our protagonist here sees a Chinese person living in Japan and the first thing he does is assume she's unable to speak the language? Wow, what a jerk. I can see why he never reappeared. Also, considering every character can use all the clothes, and how everyone seemed to have the exact same AI, I guess this is another game where every character is the exact same thing except for voice clips and specials. Effort?

Apparently most of the items change the look of the bat or the ball, though between the graphics quality and the motion blurring it's hard to tell for the ball - the "sweets" item is actually takoyaki; you can just about tell the ball is brown during that last match but it's not obvious what it is unless you already know.

For some reason I feel like PEGI took someone's word for it and didn't actually check the game themselves. Not even as far as the options menu. Also the Japanese title should be 'covered with women' rather than 'of covered women', which is slightly less nonsensical. Editing Wikipedia is more effort than I'm willing to put in, though.

The one thing I know about the Oneechanbara series is that at least one of them let's you change the gore colour to white, so it could have been worse. Honestly it's pretty neat that they reuse the alien for her rage mode model, even if they probably did that because making a new one would have cost money. Actually I was really surprised that the Rage mode didn't train your HP during the cutscenes. that's a bit higher quality than I expected.

The unkillable zombie could be interesting as a challenge scenario, put the protagonist immediately in Rage mode, lock the doors, the player must either kill enough to get the key or die, remove Rage or fill HP to max afterwards. Of course, this is far more thought than this game has, and as it is those zombies are pretty blatantly padding.

I doubt this helps now, but if this game is anything like the later Onechanbara games, there's a unique attack when locked on that instantly kills the invincible zombies. I think it's back, forward, attack. You do a little grab attack that rips out their hearts and kills them instantly. That said, thanks for showing off these, uh, remarkable games! Love your videos.

Man, I'm kinda glad to see this LP, because this is one of those things I kept thinking about maybe doing myself "someday". I was / am a huge D3 nerd and played...probably at least a few minutes of like 90% of the Simple series. Some of them kick rear end though and I wish they'd get some ports or sequels happening. Zombie VS Ambulance 2 when?? Thanks for doing this series.

Sadly, dubbing a game takes money, money this game would most likely not make. And, if I remember correctly, Sony would not allow games with only Japanese voices to be published in America during this time. Both things combined give us...this. That said, putting a subtitle track would not have been hard, so it's still lazy.
