Wait, there's a report saying that Everton just want Rooney on loan with Utd paying half of his wages. Cheeky bastards. In that case we'd only be saving 6.25m compared to having him on the bench all season. He's next to useless, but surely that's a bad deal for Utd.

BBC have changed their headline to "Man Utd say 75m deal has been agreed, but Everton say no deal has been reached"

Some moron must have jumped the gun at Utd to brief the media, not surprised. Everton are probably hoping Chelsea will come in with 80m.

Decent signing, but I was pretty set on Morata. Similar price, one is PL proven, the other is more well rounded. :thunk:

Gee, who could have seen this coming

Not too fussed if we don't get him, preferred Morata anyway.

Also Kane would probably cost 150m because why the hell would Spurs sell for anything less than crazy money

90m is a pretty ridiculous price for a good but not truly great striker. That's 20m more than Morata would have cost.

Assuming the add-ons are triggered this basically makes Lukaku the most expensive player ever, doesn't it?

89m for most expensive player ever Pogba last summer, 90m for most expensive player ever Lukaku this summer. Mad world.

What will the chels do now? Try to hang on to Costa? They were willing to match the 75+15m bid for Lukaku so they must be pretty desperate.

It's going to be very strange to see him in another club's kit, and to no longer think of him as a United player after 13 years here. So this is a bit bittersweet. But most of all I just feel relief that he's finally going after 3 poo poo years. *exhales deeply* :fyadride:

The base is 75mil+15mil in add ons, potentially reaching 90mil if every condition is met. Pogba wasn't 250mil, he was 89mil.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Pogba cost 89m + another 4m in bonuses (105m + 5m). So he may still be the most expensive player even if all of Lukaku's addons are triggered.

Conversations have also taken place between the 30-year-old's representatives and Manchester United.

While United boss Jose Mourinho is an admirer of Hart, who has 71 international caps, the clear preference at Old Trafford is to keep David de Gea, which they expect to do.

Why would we even speak to Hart :stare:

Janet jazz jazz jam sold to Real Sociedad for 10m. Not too shabby when he only had one year remaining on his contract and what with him being poo poo for 3 years now. With a first option clause to buy him back too.

90m is pretty loving steep for someone with Big Rom's limitations. Oh well, "not my money" \_(ツ)_/

Man Utd wanted Morata but signed Lukaku (submitted a final bid for Morata 12 hours before agreeing to pay for Lukaku)

The chels wanted Lukaku but signed Morata (matched Utd's bid for Lukaku)

Both clubs apparently got their 2nd choice. I blame Real Madrid.

Could totally work out for both clubs, still. Can easily see both strikers being successes.
