Backlash didn't sell out. Was on its way until matches were announced and ticket sales died almost immediately.

No SD PPV since the brand split has sold out and this very likely did the worst

There was a Backlash last year? Legitimately thought this year was the first time it had been brought back.

It came back in 2016

Nobody watched Styles or Jinder win the belt there apparently

Jinder was brought in as as Enhancement Talent

In his jobber career he managed to stand out by actively making wrestlers look worse, and injure them.

He can't cut a promo.

He is objectively worse than James Ellsworth

Imagine thinking Zayn or Cesaro stand a chance of progressing from here

Like I'm close to actively thinking worse of them for sticking around in such a doomed situation

Dave's acknowledged before there are numerous people in the company who would absolutely be paid better in the indies, especially in comparison to lower card (tag scene, non-title scene) and NXT, much like there are people in the indies who are currently better paid than they ever would be in WWE (Young Bucks, Okada)

Demand is there and high for Castagnoli and Generico; no matter how bad booking gets, companies won't be swayed by it

I mean, a massive chunk of their revenue comes from TV, so if the ratings keep falling as they have been for the entirety of the TV deal...that's not gonna be good for the next one.

Not pictured: Merch sales, also down.

They got a year to improve any of these if they want even the same deal they're currently on at this point, and uh with how TV ratings and attendance are doing so far in this second quarter, it uh doesn't look good at all. Leverage is nonexistent.

lol the Hardys are losing to TNA

quote:

The trademark application that Matt Hardy filed for “Broken Matt Hardy” in March has been given an initial refusal by the US Patent and Trademark Office. PWInsider reports that the registration application was denied because it “identifies only the name of a particular character/personal name” and doesn’t function in a way to “identify and distinguish applicant’s services from those of others and to indicate the source of applicant’s services.”

Essentially, what this means is that Hardy filed the trademark without naming any services (such as DVD sales, merchandise and the like) that it would be associated with. The application only listed “Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer.” Impact also filed a trademark request for “Broken Matt” on April 28th that is for “DVDs featuring wrestling performances, interviews with wrestlers, backstage happenings and behind-the-scenes information; wristbands; commemorative photographs; posters; trading cards; clothing, namely, shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, visors and arm sleeves; entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler; entertainment services, namely, ongoing wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and recorded for the purpose of distribution through broadcast media; and toy action figures and accessories therefor.”

Hardy has six months from today’s refusal to respond before the application is abandoned.

Honestly why is WWE even live anymore? Why not go back to taping shows. It's not like anything unexpected happens anymore. The matches are scripted everything the wrestlers say is scripted, and it's not like they have any loose cannons who might just start saying some crazy poo poo. Like what's the benefit of them doing live shows now?

They know less people watch when there's spoilers available

They're already getting MNF-competition level ratings in loving May, 2 mil viewership is already not out of the question within the year. They'd just be making things worse for themselves, especially with a new TV deal negotiation being a year away and already having very little leverage for any kind of good result
