Perhaps a nationwide minimum wage could actually go some way to addressing the horrific disparity between coastal and flyover states, in terms of population, opportunity, quality of life, level of education, health outcomes, etc.

E: it shouldn't just exist to ameliorate the problem of the rental crisis in coastal cities, that's precisely backwards
