I remember in one of the Conan comics, Conan had to traipse through a evil-god infested ruin just to deliver a jeweled scorpion necklace to a rich merchant. Of course once the exhausted Conan handed the gemmed scorpion to the merchant, it grew in size to that of a bear and ran the merchant through with it's stinger. By Crom, then Conan had to fight the monster scorpion and the merchant's guards to get out of the place, all without payment! In another comic Conan had to fight crab men. That's all I remember.
