We were on high alert for Rossi scum. Two of our skips died that day, and if it weren't for an enormous piece of luck, I would have been the third.

I spoke to Jeff about the hit.

It certainly seemed odd. I don't think Jeff would have lied to me. If his Family had been involved and Jeff was a part of it, he would have tried to kill me, or warn me. Pretending to not be involved made no sense either way.
I spoke to Four Finger and he agreed that something was fishy. I watched as he pulled a single-use cell phone from his desk drawer and made a call. Within moments, he was speaking to the head of the Rossi Family. Sure enough, it hadn't been them. When the conversation was over, Don Harcourt snapped the cheap phone in half and tossed it into the garbage.

It took a few weeks before we learned that the shooters had been hired by the Martinez Family. It was dishonorable and despicable, that they had tried to frame the Rossi Family.

We beat up and scared many Martinez Family members. (Needs 40 Intimidation and 80 Fighting)
We chose to not react, at that time.
