What a time to be an Astros fan

Watching Cleveland and Houston for twenty years has conditioned me to expect failure at any moment, no matter how well they're playing. Still, it's a loving blast watching them right now and I've got tickets for the 9th so :woop:

This is acceptable. And speaking of McHugh, he's officially on the 60-Day DL now.

I might no-shame cry when I get there.
I was last there 9 years ago, so I'm not sure how relevant my advice would be. I would suggest taking your time above all else. There's a lot to see and it's tempting to rush through there, but try not to.

Going there with my grandpa is a very fond memory. Just soak it all in man, it's a very cool place. :unsmith:

Someone go over to the clubhouse and kiss all the boo-boos and oopsies because losing (almost) the entire starting rotation due to things like "neck discomfort" and "back discomfort" is loving horseshit. This team can't survive with three glass cannons.

Hinch should just buy them all memory-foam mattress toppers and pillows since that's apparently a HUGE SOURCE OF PROBLEMs for these fucks.

but, like, the mere spirit of aoki should make you love him unquestioningly. im not sure you understand this game if you expect players to be *good* to earn your undying love.

If that spirit exists, he doesn't show it on the Astros. He's easily irritated when he strikes out, he gets pissed off when he fucks up a play and other than that he merely exists. The pregame ceremony after he hit his 2,000th is the only time I've ever seen him emote something other than irritation. There are better lovely Astro players to love.

Also I just saw the thing on Deadspin about how George Springer is using the bat designed for Mookie Betts. I had literally never seen the axe handled bats before. I think about all the blisters I could have avoided... (never felt quite right wearing gloves when playing softball)

(more accurately I basically always forgot my gloves)

I'd also never heard of these things before and I'd love to try one out. Trying hard to justify the $130 cost just to tool around with one in a cage. :sweatdrop:
