Nostalgia! I loved the King's Quest series and I remember being a kid and getting excited when a new game would be announced. We also went crazy over Colonel's Bequest, though I don't think I ever actually beat that one. Definitely following this thread, and it's interesting to see the various graphics changes the first game has gone through over the years.

When you're navigating the maze, there are random little critters that'll scuttle by as you walk around. Not sure what the blue is but there's a yellow spider-like one, too.
