Just going off his looks (without letting his opinions ruin it all), I'd give him a partial pass. Yeah, there's the fedora, but he went to the effort of putting together an outfit that's period appropriate, instead of wondering whether his black fedora goes better with his Rarity or his Hatsune t-shirt.
