Yes. Against prey and fellow Tyranids. Not worth it.

Fluff question: do full Marines ever fight in Scout Armor (in particular, asking about Raptors for whom it seems especially fluffy)?

I know this was possible in the Deathwatch RPG.

E: Oh man, they got rid of the Rhino Primaris in the C:SM? drat.

From what I understand Scout sergeants are meant to be full marines who choose to be use their knowledge to train recruits. Also, the 10th Scout Company should have its own Apothecaries, Techmarines, and Chaplains that are full marines and I'd imagine all of them would be comfortable in scout armor as well.

You can still use it. It's in the Index. Just use the datasheet/points values from there.

True story, I occasionally get free Mantic stuff from the owner because it doesn't sell.

Limited shelf space and if a product doesn't move it just sits on his shelf forever. He tries to avoid being one of those game store dungeons that has stacks of sixteen year old product covered in dust in a corner. It depends on the product too. He's not going to give away models, but a mat for a very specific game or a deck of spell cards, that kind of thing, he's happy to clear out.

Plus it's a goodwill thing. We spend money in his shop and he throws us the odd freebie on occasion.

Yeah, I'm glad I have LGSs that recognize when a line isn't selling well and just clears the shelves of it. The shops here did that with relic knights months ago and some also did it with infinity (though there seems to be a resurgence of that so we'll see if they restock). This other shop went in hard with rune wars :psyduck: but it'll need shelf space for Star Wars legion so that's probably going as well.

LGSs with dusty stacks of old product are the worst.

They're fun to stumble into and occasionally find something classic new in box, but stuff that's good usually sold years before and all they have left are the things no one wanted even when they were new.

The only old stuff I've bumped into and really enjoyed seeing were unsold Relic Knights and Anima Tactics figures. Go figure they're anime minis. :v:

It seems Wolfy. Also, like I mentioned, Deathwatch do this in the RPG as well.

Yeah, while my FLGS doesn't give out free stuff, they do dump stuff that doesn't sell into clearance for ~50% off pretty regularly. It's generally pretty effective at clearing it out as they usually get it out there before the market has 100% dried up rather than after.
