The Knicks have been really dumb and insist on playing Porzingis at the 4 almost all the time, when he is much better at the 5 on both offence (bigger matchup problem, he's a good offensive rebounder and dunker) and defence (he's a very solid rim protector, but can be exposed when dragged out to the perimeter). The triangle in 2017 is outdated anyway, but running it religiously to the detriment of your near-unique up and coming talent is seriously stupid.

That said, yes he is slightly overhyped because New York. He is going to be a multiple all-star though.
Yeah I think he could and will like...4/10 times become really good, it's just funny that he was literally close to the most average player in the NBA

This is why this trade is dumb as hell:

Even if they hypothetically get Paul George, is a core of Lonzo Ball, Paul George, Jordan Clarkson, and Brandon Ingram going to win you 50 games?

Luol Deng, Corey Brewer, Jordan Clarkson, and Tarik Black are taking up $41m next season. Paul George's max will be 33 or so. That's $74m invested in 5 players and no assets to dump any further salary.

They couldn't afford LeBron without completely emptying the cupboard of assets and LeBron Paul George and Lonzo Ball aren't winning a title with a replacement level bench and no cap space to add talent.

Nah. DeAndres great but his contract was a lot more moveable before this year.
We weren't going to trade him last year or the year before that. Now that the team might actually break up, we'll move him and his bird rights to another team if the offer is right. I have no idea how that is worse than letting him go to the Mavericks for free.

Before the trade for Gallinari I said that a good GM could get the Clips to 50 wins this season. I'm not sold on Danilo and Blake being a good pairing, but I believe the Clippers are a 50 win team. Yeah it's just that we owe a million lottery protected picks, so we can't feasibly inject the team with any youth until we decide to be bad. I don't think this team as currently capped out and constructed is a difference maker. Love all the guys though!
