He's always always been icy/hot, he's still the legit 3&D dude plenty of teams want. Still a great defender who gets overshadowed by Kawhi and still one of the best chase down blockers/defenders among guards
I'd hate to dump him unless there was a good deal/signing in place

Punkin Spunkin
Jan 1, 2010
Plus he's the second best defender on an elite defense, I'd hate to lose DG's defensive contributions unless Juice can step up (assuming we can even sign him!) or whatever signing/deal this is for really makes it worthwhile

like say what you will about buddy but hes still better & more consistent than the 3&D options most teams are running with

Like whatever, I get it. I was never as down on his performance on the Spurs as others, I think he's been good, but this is just another symptom of his mental fragility. I blame Portlandia culture :smugdog:
But it's all good cuz apparently George Hill wants back in

Bye LMA. I feel like you got unfair criticism but to find out you blame Pop and the system for your regressions? I guarantee he's envious of Kawhi as well. :byewhore: Be evil and include Tony Parker. Maybe some picks? I love him but Frenchman was always the least willing to sacrifice of the Big Three (and actually my least favorite member, Pop agrees and made him cry) and plus he hosed Brent Barry's wife. That's gotta break the Spurs Code, right? Think I found a loophole
Distressed assets for distressed assets. Who says no 😩

Then sign CP3 or Lowry with the remaining room :getin:

If I live to see Paul George, Kawhi, and Danny Green defending on the same court then I might just die then and there
Add in CP3 and I'll die twice
Everyone else can go (I'd like Juice back though, and no trade involving Dejounte)

If I'm Fultz, I'm sad as gently caress. Yeah Philly has a load of young talent, but they're all huge injury risks.

Boston made the conference finals and has a consensus top-5 coach.

With the NBA's guaranteed contracts, it feels to me like everyone who's at least above average gets paid PLENTY over the course of their careers, setting aside medical cases.

So if that's the case, I want to go to the best team, if only because it makes it more likely someone's gonna crazily overpay me down the road. Definitely Boston over Philly.
On the other hand, it's Boston

I'm actually kind of hoping the Celtics don't get Paul George or Hayward, not out of malice, just cuz I think it'd be funnier if the West just kept getting stronger and stronger until it became an even more insane deathmatch on one side. Can you imagine the balance if Jimmy and PG both go west. even funnier if Houston gets Lowry back.

p.s. I'd totally do coke with Quinn Snyder

That's a little alarmist, especially with DG, but the rest IS pretty much true yeah
I'm not too worried though, I'm kinda excited to watch the young players grow and watch what the org throws around Kawhi. Every year is the one everyone thinks we'll finally drop out and we still usually end up contenders and/or in 2nd somehow
It's true though, we dont just need bigs we kind of need everything. When it comes to all the Spurs roleplayers you're talking about leaving I am pretty confident about replacing their production with other randoms and incoming young/foreign people. That's kind of what happens every year with the Spurs. Then in a couple years THEY can get headhunted & overpaid :)
Feeling cautiously optimistic about Adam Hanga for example, second year Murray/Bertans, and we'll whip up some more random roleplayers too I'm sure

Spacebump posted:

If the Spurs get CP3 will he continue the tradition of big Spurs free agent signings underwhelming once they get there? It seems like LMA is getting almost Richard Jefferson levels of hate from Spurs fans.
Now that's hyperbole, I'd never hate LMA as much as Rich Jeff. He may be bitchmade but we should've expected that from a Portland import and unlike Rich Jeff the man did actually produce and play well...at least before the cowards killed Kawhi

But six years? That’s an eternity. Dozens of careers from the 2011 draft have gone through the entire life cycle of growing, blooming, withering, and dying in the last half dozen years: Jeremy Tyler, Jordan Hamilton, MarShon Brooks, Nolan Smith, Jimmer Fredette, Jan Vesely, among many others. Picked 59th overall, Hanga will now finally get a chance, at age 28, to prove that San Antonio was justified in taking him one slot ahead of Isaiah Thomas.
Yikes

Should put a Sabonis trigger warning on this article though, I hate being reminded of what could've been in the NBA.
Wish I could root for his son but he got drafted by anathema

Anyway I'm cautiously optimistic on Hanga, i don't expect a whole lot but I think we can develop him and whether or not we keep DG or Juice, Hanga should come with translatable defensive skill at least
The only problem is typing his name accurately takes a lot of effort. Ádám

This is what keeps me going

quote:

Over 11.5 games, Leonard’s per-game averages were excellent in their own right (27.7 points, 52.5 FG%, 7.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists) but it’s his advanced stats that reflect the kind of impact he was having. He’ll go down as the 2017 postseason leader in Player Efficiency Rating (31.5), as well as Win Shares per 48 minutes (.314) among all qualifying players.

Look up the players in the history of the league that have hit those marks in one postseason and you see the type of rarefied company Leonard is in: LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. That’s it.

The case can be made that no current star, when healthy, puts his team in as good a position to contend as Leonard, who is just 25, was an MVP finalist this year, and appears to still be improving. If nothing else, Spurs fans should feel encouraged by that.
Thank you Indiana pacers
Thank you George Hill
