Middle aged, got a bit of a beer belly, been running trains most of his life and you know what? That's fine. It's not a bad life, pays enough to help the family. Only now the world's gone to poo poo and he's suddenly responsible for the best chance its got, stumbling along because it's not like anyone has a better plan. It's odd.
