The Nashville Perds are proud to announce that there has been a skipped pick, and that pick is skipped to the Nashville Perds. With this skipped pick, a player must be selected. That player will be selected by Nashville. That player is Vladimir Tarasenko. That's the word, ya heard?

Good Soldier Svejk posted:drat, that scoring slump last season has goal-scorers at a premium this year. I legitimately think that he is elite or just on the cusp, is young, signed decently long on a contract that doesn't even look that bad now, and has good fancies on a so-so team. I was going to pick Kucherov for similar reasons but he was sniped on me (and I might've gone this way anyway because Kucherov is gonna get like 9M in two years). There were a few centers (one in particular) that I considered there, but I feel like top flight wingers have the shallowest pool compaired to centers and D of a similar caliber so positional scarcity Also maybe I'll get a good center and what then???? What say you Blues? Wanna see Tarasenko score 60 goals when he's not saddled with whatever aging crap you trot out there??? e: McDavid, Laine, Matthews, Karlsson, and maybe Eichel were the only guys on my list I had ranked ahead of him e2: I've been phone posting for the last few days because I never unpacked my laptop when I went away last weekend so I'll update my team page on the spreadsheet later Teemu Pokemon fucked around with this message at 22:48 on Jul 13, 2017 |

Good Soldier Svejk posted:Don't get me wrong - I think he's a solid pick (I got him at 14 last year and would've jumped to have him at 12 this year.) Guys who can score 40 goals are rare, winger or no - and when it comes to quality centers I think that well is a lot deeper than wingers of Tarasenko's stature. Jamwad Hilder posted:On my phone so I can't update the spreadsheet, sorry. But I pick Mark Scheifele This was the guy I was considering, and there was another center, and Gadreau, on my radar but I ultimately felt that Tarasenko was the best option considering all factors I reserve the right to reject this opinion if/when Scheifele, or my other center, are 70-80+ point franchise centers if the top line center I get later in the draft is really fuckin meh Teemu Pokemon fucked around with this message at 04:58 on Jul 14, 2017 |

I wouldn't say he dropped, middle of the 1st is about exactly where he should go, maybe even a few picks later when you consider his contract

Yeah it's just been proven that you can sustain winning with great teams and average goaltenders, so factoring all that in, I'd say that somewhere between 15-25 is the perfect spot to take Price. I wouldn't consider him not going in the top 15 to be falling

To be fair, you get 2 hours to pick, and that was an after hours pick to boot so it was more like 13 hours, there's literally no reason with all that time, plus waiting time between picks, that you should ever have to edit a different guy into a post unless the guy you're trying to draft was already picked
