Got three places for the nov 7 show in Paris, I'm super hyped ! New song is good, maybe a little too pop for my tastes, and it lacks a cool short riff like during Smooth Sailing, but that will do anyway. Can't wait for the new album.

Sir Lemming posted:Infinity and Born To Hula are some of my favorite tracks they've ever done, and I don't mind that they're not on an album because they don't feel like they'd belong to any, they're just their own things. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI75vQViftk

Juaguocio posted:Here's a challenge for y'all: find a live video of "Little Sister" where Josh nails the guitar solo. I've seen QotSA multiple times, and watched a lot of concert footage, and from what I've seen he screws it up every time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPYL7dKcZnk The whole concert is awesome, really. Check Misfit love and especially A Song for the Dead, best one I've ever seen. Also the video production is unreal.

Ugly In The Morning posted:... river in the road is probably the best QotSA song. Great riffs and solid lyrics. Era Vulgaris is highly under appreciated. Run Dodo Run posted:You know what the annoying thing is? They already have written them. Here's the full list of registered songs for Them Crooked Vultures:

I'll see them on Nov 7 in Paris, on one hand I'd like them to play You can't quit me baby, on the other hand they'll never top this version : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9p49MAxK7c I've got mixed feelings. I've already seen an ultra awesome Better living through chemistry 4 years ago so at this point I just want them to throw in an obscure b-side song of theirs live like Infinity, You're so vague, Going on west or Born to hula. I'd lose my poo poo. I'd also settle for Mexicola or Smooth sailin'. Also they better play Head like a haunted house .

Just got back from the Paris, France concert, my throat is done for a good week. They played for two hours, every song from Villains except Hideaway (not complaining on this one), we also got (not in order) Monsters in Parasol, Make it wit chu, No One Know, Sick Sick Sick, Millionnaire, If I Had a Tail, Smooth Sailing (gently caress yes), I Appear Missing, My God Is The Sun, Go with the flow and they finished with A Song For The Dead. Concert was dope, but the overall sound was unfortunately not really good: some in the audience got too much bass, we had the opposite with the guitars almost larsening on I Appear Missing. Not really the band's fault, what can you do. Production values were better when I saw them 4 years ago too, as there were giant displays with animations from the various clips, but this time only some lightning work. That concert was recorded, so maybe they didn't bother this time. But if was loving great, if you have the opportunity, go see them, they're still beasts on stage. Cons : bad audio work from the venue, stage effects could be better, no awesome guitar solo. Pros : it's Queens of the Goddamn Stone Age live, they deliver every single time, huge setlist, Josh forgetting the lyrics of Make It Wit Chu, everything they played, John Theodore on fire.
