I watched (never read) Mahouka because the premise of a hapless kid in a magic school who wasn't good with "regular" magic appealed to me. The first couple of episodes were passable too. By the time it came out that this kid was in fact the Most Incredible Person in All History/super spy/legendary gunsmith/terrorist buster/ace sniper with nuclear bullets/etc. I finished watching the series just to see how terrible it could get. Spoiler warning: pretty terrible.
