Wasn't there a male 70 year old atheist Jew socialist who is too idealistic and therefore toxic due to the political realities of our day or did I dream that.

If I was a musician I would write albums and albums of punk songs about how liberalism is dead.

Remember when Obama had a huge legion of young voters and volunteers who were going to change America and then decided Wall Street is cool 😎

At least 16% are out of touch or have vested interests.

Actually this looks open ended, so people just answered the question weird. I'm sure plenty of them don't think anything is wrong, but there is also a lot of lazy respondent in that type of answer :)

I went to my coworkers place to watch sports and she had the Clinton book ‘What Happened’ on the couch.

that book looked like a loving tome and I can’t imagine why anyone would read it

Prioritizing CHIP over DACA is a great example of white supremacy.

Clinton and the libs supported a $12 minimum wage to undercut the fight for $15, not because it was more likely to pass.

A major succ of Oregon politics is housing politics. Portland has a massive homeless population despite tons of new housing being built. Most of it sits empty as it is considered an investment vehicle where offering market rates would lower it's long-term value.

Pretty much all the house/senate Dems are landlords who talk about the need for affordable housing. Many of them push against the bills to lower moving costs for renters, improve renter protection, ban no-cause evictions, increase budgets for new affordable housing, etc in back channels to ensure their investment. They ultimately hide behind one or two 'moderate' democrats who believe in regulations will hurt 'supply'. Their solution is instead to build more housing that will sit empty because only a small selection of white tech bros can afford $2K+ rent/monthly mortgage for a fancy apartment/condo.

New Trends in Office Design by Nikil Saval ~ this has a ton of good stuff about open layout offices and standing desks etc, but this always makes me lol ---

[Steve]Jobs originally proposed that, for the entire 218,000-square-foot warehouse, they build only two bathrooms.

Jobs’s idée fixe was the “unplanned collaboration”: the notion that ideas come out of spontaneous encounters rather than individual silent work or scheduled meetings. This concept, now a shibboleth of contemporary office design, motivated Jobs’s ideas for Pixar. He thought: Put an atrium in the center of the building, locate essential features there, and you’ll have people passing each other constantly — leading over time to animated films that both adults and children can enjoy. To top it off, he argued, put all the bathrooms there: nothing more fundamental than the human need to excrete. Rushing to the bathroom from the ends of the enormous space, people would run into people they otherwise wouldn’t — and be inspired to collaborate.

....

But Jobs was forced to compromise. It was obvious to everyone but him that people on their way to the bathroom would have more pressing things to do than innovate disruptive technologies. As built, the Pixar office contains eight bathrooms, four on each floor.

holy poo poo that article is amazing
