Was once near an airport while there were very heavy, hurricane like winds and saw a big Boeing make a landing. The plane was basically flying sideways and almost stood in the air for a moment (which was super surreal) because of the wind and was generally super wobbly. Everyone around me stopped talking and we were all just staring at the plane and I was expecting to see the thing crash and go up in flames but the pilot made it, even though it was obviously a rough landing. They closed the airport shortly afterwards because of the severe weather IIRC.
