What's going on with all these African interventions that France is involved in? I assume they are protecting some business interests/resource extractions?

some want autonomy, kind of like tahiti or new caledonia, others outright independence. both movements have united recently and have been gaining elections on the island.

Belgium and the UK had extensive African colonial empires too, but none of them are running a shitton of military bases all over the place and getting involved in wars all the time.(I mean outside of UN missions)

Meet Françafrique, France last shot at maintaining the delusion that it was still an empire, even if it meant having to rearm the fleeing Hutu génocidaires in Rwanda.

In terms of catholicism, probably Vendée.

I don't think so  Bavaria has good beers, good cars and good football; Alsace only has the first, possibly the second (thx Bugatti), but certainly not the third.

She's been elected to the Assemblée Nationale, but her group there is so small (8 members) that she can't get a commission presidency.

It's been pretty quiet on the faf front, except for the melodrama when daddy Le Pen showed up for a meeting of the party's directorate only to find the doors literarlly chained up to prevent his entrance.

Yeah, she's back in her box for 5 more years.
She'll be on the front page from time to time, when she comes up with something outrageous enough, or when an FN mayor does something stupid again.
Or you know, if she gets convicted for her EU shenanigans...
