why are "centrists" quoting an idiot libertarian?

Because there is no such thing as a centrist intellectual? At least libertarians have a bibliography providing a great array of hosed up quotes if you ever need a bon mot to support dictatorship and laissez-faire capitalism.

I'm not surprised that they would show solidarity with their fellow shitheads, but still, why the gently caress where they over there?

According to
https://twitter.com/WCM_JustSocial/status/896743575781875713
fascist shitheads tried to create a chapter in the states. I guess they kept the logo anyway. It makes sense since they identify as white Europeans first and they keep using the same iconography as hate groups here in Europe. I watched some footage of the protest and I saw countless runes (of course), a few Totenkopfs (sadly, pretty much par for the course at this point) and the sun wheel was everywhere; which is weird since I recognized that last one because it's (mostly, AFAIK) used by the Aryan Sisterhood, and it wasn't used by leather-clad female SS praetorians but by regular shitlords with wooden shields.

Enjoy your nazis America! Please punch them on sight TIA

Is this saying that there will be no whatever the equivalent of payroll taxes is in France on people earning minimum wage?

Basically yes. I can't stress enough how terrible this idea is. They're promoting the reform by saying minimum wage workers will make more money, but in reality this means that the small part of our wages that is collectivized won't be collectivized anymore; pensions, healthcare, child benefits and unemployment insurance among others are part of what they call "charges" to imply that they're a dead weight for everybody even though they're only in the way of the free market. This is the first step in privatizing our last socialist institutions.

And I'm saying this as a minimum wage worker who's going to make between 100 and 200 more euros a month if this ever becomes law. They're taking a poo poo on all the post-WWII reforms that were meant to improve the lives of working class people.

given the level of anger towards this turd why was he elected in the first place? If there's so much justifiable anger over wealth distribution and all burdens being taken off the rich and dumped on everyone else why you guys elect an ibanker

It wasn't exactly a landlslide, more than 22% abstention in the first round (33% in the second) + 2% blank. And that's just counting people with the right to vote who have a registration card, which was about 47M people out of 67M so he was basically elected by a minority. Oh, and foreigners don't have the right to vote in presidential elections no matter how long they've been residing in France. They do pay taxes though.

According to polls, at least 70% of people in France support the gilets jaunes so I think the numbers are consistent and really show that the majority of people didn't want him.

From the government? gently caress all at this point but these past few days were basically a warm-up session for the coming week. AFAIK unions are in it for the long haul and teachers are supposed to join the strike on tuesday. Almost all refineries are closed too so this could get fun.
