I guess if your coach is smarter than Therrien you can give him extremely sheltered minutes but why pay 4.2M for a fringe 5-6 guy when you could dress anyone else? Unless this is just the starting move to send him back to Montreal... OK now I just made myself sad. Well, sadder.

To my vague memory he was one of those guys in the draft that everyone talks up like "oh he has a ton of skill, he's really good, I can't believe such and such team passed on him to pick this other guy" but ultimately just never made the jump to the NHL he had a great post draft year in the WHL and then another great one after that, and then a good AHL rookie season scoring 31 goals but...just never stuck in the NHL. Not sure if the Blues wouldn't give him a chance or he had issues going up to the NHL
