I like the one on the left best, he looks more like priests you actually see in England, (where the game is ostensibly set despite the whole casino-mansion thing being about American as you can get) though apart from the crossing himself when he hides Boone being a priest doesn't come up much anyway. And the mask looks more like the handprint was accidental, the one we ended up with he'd have just been wandering round with a blank white one all night if not for the murder and strange ladies and what-not.

See I personally assumed this was France, Spain or Italy. Which your point about actual priests still stands to be fair.

You're gonna have to explain that to me because that's a really out there interpretation/understanding.

I'm just gonna say that blind people having incredible hearing and senses is a worn trope because it's actually a true thing, sensory compensation exists.

Redd's mask looks kinda like Disney's Beast. I gotta wonder why he and Clay are victims. They're both casino employees and they're both in love with someone who designed part of the mansion. Is there something that separates them from the skull-mask playing-card servants? Is that why they have to die?

The thing is neither of them are Employees right now, they're just friends of the Marquis. Redd in particular is helping Greyson Grayson steal a priceless artifact.

I do appreciate that the game doesn't outright say it anywhere but Redd is in love with Greyson.

Also Clay basically beat up cheaters after they left instead of throwing them out immediately when he was head of security.

Personally, my "oh poo poo this went darker than multiple murder" hope is that maybe Eleanor and the baby didn't die in the fire. If this is all inside Lucas' comatose mind, then there's a shaky argument to be made that the reason the Bloodied Girl changed it up is that Eleanor went to visit him, and his subconscious perceived her as a glimmer of hope. After all, she was staying in the little guest house well away from the mansion, she might have survived, and he might just be assuming he accidentally killed her along with the others.

It's also possible this is why Lafcadio is the one we're playing as, if he didn't die in the fire than as a priest he'd definitely come to visit Lucas' and try and talk to him.

Well... from what I understand, Lafcadio was a real person who existed, and was the previous owner of the Sexy Brutale before Lucas bought it. And that he died in the explosion. Lucas imagined himself as Lafcadio because he did what Lucas couldn't, he walked away.

Slightly wrong in that Lafcadio wasn't even at the Sexy Brutale when the explosion happened, this is why he has no portrait and no Invitation, and presumably why he can break free. His death at the Casino is entirely fictitious compared to everyone else being Lucas trying to give their deaths meaning. Lafcadio thus doesn't need to have his death have meaning, as Lucas didn't kill him in the first place.
