a friend who's in Berlin for a few months brought me a gift it's a very good, simple pilsner. nothing terribly special but it does what it does perfectly. a different friend visited me when I lived in Berlin and fell in love with this stuff. when I came home, to thank me for hosting him, he made a t-shirt with the logo on it and gave it to me. he will be very jealous of this

I have the same feeling for augustiner helles, like it’s not the best beer but if it’s a nice day in munich it’s exactly what you want to be drinking helles doesn’t travel well but there’s american companies making it now, it’s not quite the same but pretty close

i was just doing repairs to the fuel system in my car (small leak), temporarily made the problem worse (big leak). very stressful, had one of those dreadful “i better figure this out or I wont have a working vehicle” moments, but I eventually fixed it. so now i am Drinking Beer

when I was in undergrad I brought a bottle of gin to a Christmas party and my friends hot mom immediately told me "gin is for alcoholics" which is a line I say all the time now when I drink it

you pour a small amount of vermouth into the glass, swirl it around so it coats the inside, and then dump out the excess, tossing it disdainfully in the direction of france. then add your cold gin

just drink the gin straight from the bottle like a gentleman. eat an olive every once in a while to mark off your "drinks" much in the way a ship measures it's speed in "knots"
