Dear diary, today I
became a captain.
A bit surprised. But I only listen to music while I'm running anymore, so it's all tailored towards that.
I don't get favorite albums, because I don't listen to any, I guess. Just make playlist with the track I like most, I kept the habit from back when I was a DJ.

modeselektor (this is almost all old stuff, like raveanthem ups edit, one of my favorite tracks ever)
pangaea
denham audio
moktar
asa 808

way deep - slugh
3210 - Jeshi ross from friends remix (is this track in 3/4? There's something about it)
something that leads me to you - zphr (I googled this artist because the simplicity made me wonder if it was AI)
verum verbum - mtrz

Justice was one of the coolest live electronic acts I've ever seen (wow that was probably ten years ago now). Their lightshow is really simple compared to other acts for whom the visual aspect is a key part of the show. No real video-wall going on, just solid colours and blinders and simple shapes and elegantly synchronized moving lights, and the front of their rig being dummy studio rack gear. Actually there was a big of video wall, cleverly hidden in their fake Marshall stacks as you can see in that movie. I scanned through a bit, it looks mostly the same as what I remember - I couldn't find the klaxon section of Stress though which is burned into my memory because the lights on top of the speaker stacks scanned around perfectly to the alarm sound, like police cherries.

The Orbital set should be of interest to "classic EDM" fans. Paul just announced that in addition to performing the Green Album in its entirety on the 2024 tour, they'll now be performing the Brown Album as well. So we'll be getting the original mixes of Satan, Lush, Halcyon + On + On and Impact for the first time in decades.

Further Orbital news: they promised a special announcement yesterday, and it dropped ten minutes ago. A full remaster and deluxe edition of the Green Album in April, with live takes from the archive, B-sides, rarities and demos. Pre-orders open.

I went to Tomorrowland Core at Zamna Tulum this past weekend. I remember thinking, why are so many events in Tulum? This doesn’t make any sense.

I don’t know how much of the production was Zamna and how much was Tomorrowland, but it really is incredible. The venue truly is magical.
