Deadmau5 is boring AF live (seen him twice with a show full of production) because he is foremost a producer and never developed a sense of how to make a 90 minute set engaging and flow properly.

Late reply, but to answer your inquiry: the two live shows I saw were House of Blues Boston 2010 and Governors Ball 2015. Both sets started off great but the energy just died down after the first half. Compare Deadmau5 to say, Daft Punk, Justice, or Eric Prydz, and you'll see how two-dimensional his sets are. That said, he's still better than Flume who is completely one-note AF.
