Most modern simpsons episodes become dated as soon as they come out. That's the trouble with taking on current events but getting to the punch months late compared to South Park.

Fun fact, that episode was written by the same person who wrote Code of Honor, a Star Trek TNG episode with a similar plot where the Enterprise visits the planet of black people.

A lot of current Simpsons episodes are uncomfortably racist

Most Kevin Smith movies with a "message" age poorly. Chasing Amy is real bad.

Still amazing for the way Shatner shouts mutiny and starts acting camp to show he's been possessed by a womz

fruit on the bottom posted:I'd say the Gamergate one, but I don't think was ever well The supercut I watched that added random effects to the episode and ended with "terrorists win!" was amazing and well worth it. Episodes of shows that approach technology from an out of date perspective are amazing cringe comedy at times. Other times, you get Simpsons parodying Pokemon Go like it's 1997.

Didn't the law and order gamergate also have a Toby "tobuscus" turner cameo like five years after he was relevant?

Baywatch has not aged well at all, if only for the constant immediately dated product placement. Hope you like 90s A&W cream soda

BioEnchanted posted:I liked the characterisation of Peter Prickly and Muriel Finster - Prickly was just like TJ when he was a kid, but eventually life caught up with him and he had to start taking himself more seriously, until he took it too far and became an rear end in a top hat, until he noticed what he'd became and dialled it back a bit. Recess will always get a pass from me because the School's Out film had James Woods hamming it up as a bond villain.

mind the walrus posted:iirc they loving "Cask of Amontillado" a train in the first episode (or book, can't recall) because he was disobedient. All of the original stories by the Rev. Awdry were based on real world events in British railway history. In real life, if a train breaks down in a tunnel, you just board it up to keep animals out while you do repairs. When the train is sentient, it gets hosed up. That, and everything bad happened to Henry in the early seasons before Percy became the railyard bitch. Henry loving killed a guy when he smashed into the caboose one episode.
