and then the car turned in to fire

Low rent logo, low rent stadiums, high rent cities and high levels of tax evasion. Serie A returns for another glorious campaign in the world’s finest nation with a negative birth rate and a double digit unemployment rate.

Juventus won again last season in what is rapidly become the most annoying loving period of Italian football history next to that one year in the 80’s when Verona shat their way to a title and that one time when Inter were handed a bunch of league titles on a plate and also on paper (not sul campo!). This year just might break Juve’s dynasty track, maybe, hopefully, we all want it to, obviously. Probably not though. Lets meet the contenders:

Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio
Home City Bergamo
Manager: Giampiero Gasperini
Notable players in: Marten De Roon (midfielder, Boro), Josip Ilicic (midfielder, Fiorentina)
Notable players out: Franck Kessie (midfielder, Milan), Andrea Conti (wingback, Milan), Alberto Paloschi (striker, SPAL)
Trophies: Coppa Italia [1] 62/63
Last finish: 4th
With Papu Gomez and Andrea Petagna having the season of their lives, and with the revelations of Andrea Conti and Franck Kessie, Atalanta were able to smash in a mountain of goals and climb their way to 4th place, taking out Juventus once and the other big sides more than once. While two of those four players are now gone, keeping Gomez is a bit of an achievement even if he is getting on in age. They’ll need some other players to break out but I think Atalanta can stay above 10th place. I don’t expect them to get high as 4th again but that’s only because they’ll also have European football to deal with and Gasperini never seems to be able to make things work twice in a row.

Benevento Calcio
Home City Benevento
Manager: Marco Baroni
Notable players in: Danilo Cataldi (midfielder, Genoa via Lazio)
Notable players out: none really
Trophies: none at the highest level
Last finish: Serie B playoff winners

The warlocks will be playing their first ever Serie A campaign this year after winning a tight playoff final against our old friends Carpi. Baroni will remain the manager of the small team from Campania and will likely be canned after they get bummed for the first 10 matches of the season. Cataldi is a good player but they are going to need a lot more than that. Relegation if nothing changes.

Bologna Football Club 1909
Home City Bologna
Manager: Roberto Donadoni
Notable players in: Andrea Poli (midfielder, Milan), Pipo Gonzalez (defender, Palermo, I see you Drog)
Notable players out: Blerim Dzemaili (midfielder, Montreal Impact), Umar Sadiq (striker, Roma)
Trophies: Serie A [7] 24/25, 28/29, 35/36, 36/37, 38/39, 40/41, 63/64
Coppa Italia [2] 69/70, 73/74
Last finish: 15th in Serie A

In any other season Bologna might’ve been relegated. In fact, they probably should have been along with every team lower than them except Crotone. A highlight of Bologna’s season was losing to a 9 man Milan team when they were ahead. Dondadoni has made this team look good a few times, but it’s a matter of consistency. If he can figure something out Bologna have every chance to finish mid table or higher, but I don’t know if he will.

Cagliari Calcio
Home City Cagliari
Manager: Massimo Rastelli
Notable players in: Duje Cop (striker, Gijon, loan return), Luca Cigarini (midfielder, Samp)
Notable players out: Mauricio Isla (midfielder/defender, Fenerbahce)
Trophies: /Serie A 69/70
Last finish: 11th in Serie A

After Cellino sold the team, the internals must’ve started working a little better as Cagliari arrived to a comfortable mid table finish, thanks to the good work of Marco Borriello and friends. Probably a similar result this year, not a lot of change.

Associazione Calcio Chievo Verona
Home City Verona
Manager: Rolando Maran
Notable players in: None
Notable players out: None
Trophies: none at the top level
Last finish: 14th

Go away Chievo for fucks sake. Nobody wants you here.

Football Club Crotone
Home City Crotone
Manager: Davide Nicola
Notable players in: Ante Budimir (striker, Sampdoria), Arlind Ajeti (defender, Torino), Mariano Izco (midfielder, Chievo)
Notable players out: Diego Falcinelli (striker, Sassuolo)
Trophies: None at the top level
Last finish: 17th in Serie A

Crotone pulled off The Great Escape last season after ending the first half of the season with single digit points. Diego Falcinelli finally found his groove in the last 7 or 8 games of the season and pretty much singlehandedly saved the club from relegation, no easy task for a team that was complete garbage up until then. Falcinelli returned to his parent club, but the team have re-signed Ante Budimir who got them to Serie A in the first place and made a few decent signings in midfield and defense. They’re still going ot be fighting relegation but now they will have the belief that they belong in this league. Also Davide Nicola is a good lad who biked from Crotone to Torino after the team was saved.

Associazione Calcio Firenze Fiorentina
Home City Firenze
Manager: Stefano Pioli
Notable players in: Marco Benassi (midfielder, Torino), Mati Fernandez (midfielder, Milan),
Notable players out: Borja Valero (midfielder, Inter), Josip Ilicic (midfielder, Atalanta), Ciprian Tatarusanu (keeper, Nantes), Matias Vecino (midfielder, Inter), Federico Bernardeschi (striker, Juventus),
Trophies: Serie A [2] 55/56, 68/69
Coppa Italia [6] 39/40, 60/61, 65/66, 74/75, 95/96, 00/01
Cup Winners Cup [1] 60/61
Last finish: 8th

Fiorentina contrived to throw away a Europa League place by being pretty crap in the second and third thirds of the season, losing games should have won. They finally had enough of Paolo Sousa and let him gently caress off to China or whatever, replacing him with Inter’s garbage man of the month Stefano Pioli. They’ve sold some of their best players but still have Federico Chiesa who I think was one of the best players in the whole league last year and Ricky Saponara who will come good if someone just gives him a goddamn chance. It’ll be interesting to see what they can do this year, could be anywhere in the table really.

Genoa Cricket and Football Club
Home City Genova
Manager: Ivan Juric
Notable players in: Ginanluca Lapadula (striker, Milan), Andrea Bertolacci (midfielder, Milan), Centurion (midfielder, Boca via Sao Paolo)
Notable players out:
Trophies: Serie A [9] 1897/98; 1898/99; 1899/1900; 1901/02; 1902/03; 1903/04; 1914/15; 1922/34 1923/24
Coppa Italia [1] 36/37
Last finish: 16th

After sacking and rehiring Juric, Genoa plodded their way to safety no thanks to the bottom three being some of the worst sides in this leagues history. There was no consistent philosophy here and Simeone’s kid needs to get the gently caress out before he starts to waste away. Maybe having Juric for a full season now that he has some real experience will be good for them. It’s rumored that Preziosi will sell the club but he’s been saying that for years. If Bertolacci doesn’t rediscover hs form then it’s relegation fight for the Grifone.

Football Club Internazionale Milano
Home City Milano
Manager: Luciano Spalletti
Notable players in:Milan Skriniar (defender, Sampdoria, money laundering and FFP avoidance), Borja Valero (midfielder, Fiorentina), Matias Vecino (midfielder, Fiorentina) Dalbert (fullback, Nice)
Notable players out: Ever Banega (mifielder, Sevilla), Gary Medel (midfielder, Besiktas) Rodrigo Palacio (end contract)
Trophies: Serie A [18] 1909/10, 19/20, 29/30, 37/38, 39/40, 52/53, 53/54, 62/63, 64/65, 65/66, 70/71, 79/80, 88/89, 05/06, 06/07, 07/08, 08/09 09/10
Coppa Italia [7] 38/39, 77/78, 81/82, 04/05, 05/06, 09/10, 10/11
European Cup/Champions League [3] 63/64, 64/65, 09/10
UEFA Cup/Europa League [3] 90/91, 93/94, 97/98
Last finish: 7th

Inter should have kept international poo poo man Frank De Boer and finished lower but they wised up and convinced Stefano Pioli to save them, only to can him at the first opportunity. Kondogbia turned out to be a serious garbageman and only Perisic and Handanovic were really saveable from last season, Icardi too of course. Despite being pretty poo poo and no European football, Inter have made some good signings. Spalletti is a good manager, at least his first season usually ends up being good wherever he goes, so I expect Inter to be challenging for Champions League spots. Being out of Europe again would be a bit of a disaster.

Juventus Football Club
Home City Torino
Manager: Massimiliano Allegri
Notable players in: Douglas Costa (winger, Bayern), Big Woj Shezzers (keeper, Roma), Federico Bernardeschi (striker, Fiorentina) Mattia De Sciglio (garbageman, Milan)
Notable players out: Leonardo Bonucci (defender, Milan), Dani Alves (fullback, PSG), Neto (keeper, Valencia) Mario Lemina (midfielder, Southampton)
Trophies: Serie A [30] 1905, 25/26, 30/31, 31/32, 32/33, 33/34, 34/35, 49/50, 51/52, 57/58, 59/60, 60/61, 66/67, 71/72, 72/73, 74/75, 76/77, 77/78, 80/81, 81/82, 83/84, 85/86, 94/95, 96/97, 97/98, 01/02, 02/03, 11/12, 12/13, 13/14, 14/15, 15/16
Coppa Italia [10] 37/38, 41/42, 58/59, 64/65, 78/79, 82/83, 89/90, 94/95, 14/15, 15/16, 16/17
European Cup/Champions League [2] 84/85, 95/96
Cup Winners Cup [1] 83/84
UEFA Cup/Europa League [3] 76/77, 89/90, 92/93
Last finish: 1st

Despite everyones best and not good enough efforts Juve won the title again and despite their own best efforts, Juve lost the Champions League final again. Losing Bonucci and Alves seems like kind of a big deal but Juve are one of the few clubs in Italy to actually have depth in their squad and as much as I hate to say it Allegri seems pretty ok at adapting. They are still the team to beat and as long as De Sciglio doesn’t start every match they’ll be fighting for the title.

Societa Sportiva Lazio
Home City Roma
Manager: Simone Inzaghi
Notable players in: Lucas (midfielder, Liverpool), Felipe Caicedo (striker, Espanyol)
Notable players out: Lucas Biglia (midfielder, Milan) Joseph Minala (midfielder, a nursing home I would imagine)
Trophies: Serie A [2] 73/74, 99/00
Coppa Italia [5] 1958, 97/98, 99/00, 03/04, 08/09, 12/13
Cup Winners Cup [1] 99/98
Last finish: 5th

Everyone thought that Marcelo Bielsa was going to be leading Lazio last year until he backed out at the last second and Simone Inzaghi, Pippo’s lesser brother was promptly put in place. He was arguably the manager of the season beside Gasperini and led Lazio to the EL, playing some really great football along the way. Big Cir Immobile will probably keep doing well as long as they also manage to keep Keita Balde, and there’s no reason to think that Lazio wont be fighting for the CL spots again. Losing their captain Biglia will probably hurt somewhat but the other Lucas should fit right in and it may turn out to be the right move as Biglia is already loving injured :argh:

Associazione Calcio Milan
Home City Milano
Manager: Vincenzo Montella
Notable players in: Matteo Musacchio (defender, Villarreal), Ricardo Rodriguez (wingback, Wolfsburg), Franck Kessie (midfielder, Atalanta), Andrea Conti (wingback, Atalanta), Andre Silva (striker, Porto), Hakan Calhanoglu (midfielder, Bayer Leverkusen), Leonardo Bonucci (defender, Juventus), Lucas Biglia (midfielder, Lazio)
Notable players out: Gerard Deulofeu (attacker, Barca via Everton end loan), Keisuke Honda (midfielder, Pachuca), Juraj Kucka (mifielder, Trabzonspor), Andrea Bertolacci (midfielder, Genoa), Gianluca Lapadula (striker, Genoa), Mattia De Sciglio (turd farmer, Juventus)
Trophies: Serie A [18] 1901, 1906, 1907, 50/51, 54/55, 56/57, 58/59, 61/62, 67/68, 78/79, 87/88, 91/92, 92/93, 93/94, 95/96, 98/99, 03/04, 10/11
Coppa Italia [5] 66/67, 71/72, 72/73, 76/77, 02/03
European Cup/Champions Leage [7] 62/63, 68/69, 88/89, 89/90, 93/94, 02/03, 06/07
Cup Winners Cup [2] 67/68, 72/73
Last finish: 6th

Two derby draws, an inspirational second half season performance from Deulofeu, some luck and some serious grinta from Lapadula ensured that Milan made their way back to European competition the same year that Silvio Berlusconi sold the team to a bunch of nameless Chinese investors. These guys are spending money like they wipe their rear end with it, and who loving cares if any of it is real, this is the best looking Milan team on paper since the last title in 2011, maybe better. If Milan don’t get back in to the champions league this season this whole plan is going to fall apart spectacularly and probably get the team dissolved.

Societa Sportiva Calcio Napoli
Home City Napoli
Manager: Maurizio Sarri
Notable players in: Adam Ounas (striker, Bordeaux), Mario Rui (defender, Roma)
Notable players out: none
Trophies: Serie A [2] 86/86, 89/90
Coppa Italia [4] 61/62, 75/76, 86/87, 11/12, 13/14
UEFA Cup/Europa Leage [1] 88/89
Last finish: 3rd

Milik wrecked himself early in the season when it looked like he was actually going ot be pretty good and that almost hosed up Napoli’s chances at CL football. Lucky for them they recovered and only really shat the bed the last few games of the season to finish comfortably in 3rd. The spine of Hamsik, Callejon and Insigne remains so goals should still be stylish and plentiful, and the addition of Adam Ounas looks to be a good one. CL spots, fighting for the title.

Associazione Sportiva Roma
Home City Roma
Manager: Luciano Spalletti
Notable players in: Lorenzo Pellegrini (midfielder, Sassuolo), Maxime Gonalons (midfielder, Lyon), Cengiz Under (stirker Istanbul Basaksehir) Gregoire Defrel (attacker, Sassuolo), Alx Kolarov (defender, Man City)
Notable players out: Francesco Totti (l’ultima bandiera, re di Roma, retired), Antonio Rudiger (defender, sock salesman, Chelsea) Mohammed Salah (midfielder/striker, Liverpool), Wojciech Szczesny (keeper, Juventus)
Trophies: Serie A [3] 41/42, 82/83, 00/01
Coppa Italia [9] 63/64, 68/69, 79/80, 80/81, 83/84, 85/86, 90/91, 06/07, 07/08
Last finish: 2nd

The biggest thing about Roma last season was not finishing second or even putting pressure on Juve til later than we all thought, but losing the best player in their history, Francesco Totti. The old man finally called it a day in a nice but sad ceremony at the Stadio Olimpico after his last match there. With that news, a managerial change came as well, with Roma pulling Eusebio Di Francesco from Sassuolo to replace Luciano Spalletti. Losing Rudiger and Salah is going to be really bad and I’m not sure Roma are up to the task. They’ll still be fighting for CL spots but with Milan and Inter strengthening and Juve and Napoli already being plenty good enough, it’ll be a real fight this time.

Unione Calcio Sampdoria
Home City Genova
Manager: Marco Giampoalo
Notable players in: Gianluca Caprari (striker, Inter via Pescara), Gaston Ramirez (midfielder, Boro)
Notable players out: Milan Skriniar (defender, Inter), Luis Muriel (striker, Sevilla), Bruno Fernandes (midfielder, Sporting), Luca Cigarini (midfielder, Cagliari),
Trophies: Serie A [1] 90/91
Coppa Italia [4] 84/85, 87/88, 88/89, 93/94
Cup Winners Cup [1] 89/90
Last finish: 10th

Samp’s season can be pretty much summed up as days when Patrik Schick was on and days that he wasn’t. He and Muriel were a lethal combo, providing assists and goals to each other constantly. Unfortunately for Samp, Muriel has already been sold and Shick is likely to be sold, after Juve decided they didn’t actually want him when he somehow failed a medical. Caprari is a promising player and Ramirez was decent the last time he played in Italy so it’s possible that we see another mid table finish comfortably but I think it’s more likely that the team will be able to just keep their noses above relegation but not without having to think about it now and then.

Unione Sportivo Sassuolo Calcio
Home City Sassuolo
Manager: Cristian Bucchi
Notable players in: Diego Falcinelli (striker, Crotone end loan)
Notable players out: Lorenzo Pellegrini (midfielder, Roma), Gregoire Defrel (striker, Roma)
Trophies: None at the top level
Last finish: 12th

Sassuolo had their worst Serie A result in their history last season (ha ha ha) and lost Eusebio Di Francesco to Roma at the end of it. He’s been replaced by Cristian Bucchi, who took Perugia to the Serie B playoffs last season, losing out to eventual winners Benevento. Falcinelli had a good streak of form at the end of the season so I’m betting that Sassuolo are hoping he can replace Defrel, who was getting more and more important as time went on. Berardi will still be there, so that’s a possibility of a good partnership. I think they’ll end up mid table again.

Società Polisportiva Ars et Labor 2013
Home City Ferrara
Manager: Leonardo Semplici
Notable players in: Felipe (defender, Udinese) Alberto Paloschi (striker, Atalanta)
Notable players out:
Trophies: None at the top level
Last finish: Seri B Champions

SPAL are back in Serie A for the first time in several decades, after being refounded for a second time in just 2013. Like every newly promoted club, they’ll struggle to stay up but Semplici has been managing the team since the Lega Pro so he’s familiar with the club and his current set of players at least.

Torino Football Club
Home City Torino
Manager: Sinisa Mihajlovic
Notable players in: Salvatore Sirigu (keeper, PSG), Tomas Rincon (midfielder, Juventus), Nicolas N’Koulou (defender, Lyon)
Notable players out: Joe Fart (fart, West Ham) Marco Benassi (midfielder, Fiorentina)
Trophies: Serie A [7] 27/28, 42/43, 45/46, 46/47, 47/48, 48/49, 75/76
Coppa Italia [5] 35/36, 42/43, 67/68, 70/71, 92/93
Last finish: 7th

Torino should probably have been in the EL this season but a few late season pants shitters left them just behin Milan in the battle for Europe. Belotti had a big breakout season, coming in second to Edin Dzeko in the capocannoniere standings. With an actual decent keeper this time around instead of a good to great then immediately to poo poo on, they should be able to be in the European spots. Benassi will be a bigger loss than you’d think, but I think they have some decent depth to handle it.

Udinese Calcio
Home City Udine
Manager: Gigi Delneri
Notable players in: none
Notable players out: none
Trophies: None at the top level
Last finish: 13th

Udinese sort of just existed for most of the season, putting in a lot of forgettable performances. Duvan Zapata was pretty decent but he has already returned to Napoli from his loan, leaving the team with no recognized “big man” striker. I expect them to just make up the numbers this year but Udinese have launched quite a few careers in the past 4 or 5 seasons so maybe someone will break out and be interesting.

Hellas Verona Football Club
Home City Verona
Manager: Fabio Pecchia
Notable players in: Alessio Cerci (moron, Atletico Madrid), Martin Caceres (idiot, Southampton)
Notable players out: none
Trophies: Serie A 84/85
Last finish: Serie B runners up

Hurrrrr duurrrr look at us we’re big lovely assholes and we’re here to sign Antonio Cassano and be so bad that his fat idiot rear end would rather quit than play for us. Later we’re gonna go dress up as Hitler and yell at black people.

Polentoni e Terroni

Where can I watch?

In America
Bein sports carries the Serie A and will usually show a match at each time slot if Real Madrid or Barcelona isn’t playing at the time. If not on TV, it’ll be available on their app or their website which apparently are not gigantic pieces of poo poo any more.

RAI Italia carries a game in each time slot (lunch time, 1500 and 2045) on each game day, but the quality of the broadcast is really bad and also it’s in Italian!

In the UK
BT Sport I think.

Anywhere else
That subreddit with the football streams has every game, usually in English and HD.

What should I read?

La Gazzetta Dello Sport: Italian sports daily with an English language site that’s been getting better over the years. Most of their news is reliable, if a little later than twitter.

Football Italia: A English language site covering Italian football. One of my favorites for English language, they update constantly and generally have good opinions.

transfermarkt.it: A gigantic real life transfer database, the .it version is in Italian and covers Serie A on the first page, but if you go to the bottom there's a .co.uk version that's in English.

Who should I follow on twitter/facebook
The league itself actually has a very good social media presence, and they post all the time. They post a lot of good pictures and announce important things pretty quickly.

Tancredi Palmeri is a multilingual journalist who is mostly worth following during the transfer season for entertainment only; he’s mostly full of poo poo but every now and then he tells a good story about a player or a manager and such.

Gianluca Di Marzio is another good journalist who’s more serious than Palmeri and also has an English section on his website. He’s usually pretty reliable.

OptaPaolo for stat dorks

Calciatori Brutti, literally “ugly footballers”, is a pretty funny account that tweets a lot of humorous Italian sports things, usually about football. Every now and then they’re serious too. A good twitter account.

What to post about in this thread
Serie A, Serie B, all of the Serie C gironi and Serie D if you are a sadist. You can also talk about the national team or topics related to Italy in general, but lets stick mostly to football.

I heard about this VAR poo poo

Serie A will be implementing the video assistant referee this season like many other leagues. So far it has been a total failure and has hosed up a bunch of matches and I expect some really bad decisions and meltdowns over it this season.

The Supercoppa wasn’t in China and it actually happened before the season?

Lazio won 3-2 at the last second after giving up a 2-0 lead in like 5 minutes to Juventus, it was good.

Outstanding OP, OP.

I hope Bonucci reverts to his fuckup days now and De Sciglio is polished into something useful (at the very least some sort of Padoin).

Gonna be watching some Bologna to see if Pipo really is back to being good, the jury is still out on that.

Chievo and Hellas should be relegated asap.

Hello again, best thread for the best people.

I got to mention to a Juve-supporting friend who I won't see again for a while (he plays hockey in another town) that his team let Bonucci go to Milan today and you know what? It felt good.

as always, thanks for the OP, OP

Juve have been on a poo poo slide since the 2nd half of the CL final. That loss (and the alleged fight at halftime) plus the Bonucci and Alves transfers let out a lot of bad vibes that I think are still hanging around. The super cup showed just how unmotivated and sloppy the entire squad is right now. I also can't believe how little money Bonucci was sold for, and that the only defender so far to come in is De Sciglio. Maybe Spinazzola can play on the right, although I don't think I've ever seen him there.

I'm also internet mad that Lemina was sold and the only midfield acquisition so far is Betancur, who isn't going to have a huge impact at this age. Sturaro is nowhere near good enough to play at all, and Khedira has not looked good for a while. I really hope they're still working on a relatively big midfield acquisition. From what I've seen in preseason I think Marchisio should definitely start over Khedira right now.

Cacati in mano e pigliati a schiaffi!

Looks like some crazy cogs are moving meaning some trades are a probable step.

Bacca missed training alluding that his move is close to Valencia. This frees up space for Kalanic whom is about 5 mill or Antonelli away from a deal. This means that Simeone is more than likely coming to replace Kalanic now that the funds/position is open.

And as always, I have no idea who is actually our good fullback because lol, I mean we had Marcos Alonso but that's about it. Reportedly one of the new ones we signed is super good attacking but sucks dick on defense.

Speaking of, we have a 6 foot 5 center back now. Dude is massive. And young.

I'm super interested to watch Viola this year because of this facelift. Sure it's new, I wish we had held onto Valero of all people because, simply put, he was il maestro and dictated a lot of our midfield pace. Sure we have Badelj but he is gonna be the hardest to replace.

We have a lot of young talent that Juventus will pry from our hands at the end of this season.

RIP Chiesa

I might've posted in the transfer thread, but yeah. Bacca showed up late and left early from training, the deal with Villarreal (not Sevilla) would be loan with obligation to buy for 20 mil. The press thinks Milan will go for Kalanic with 25 mil + Antonelli which is not what I want at all of I'm honest. Antonelli is a decent left footed full back that would be great for cover if nothing else.

Kalanic for 25 by himself seems overpriced but at least he is a proven goal scorer in the league. I just don't like the idea of giving away a fullback so easily.

How did Betancur do last season anyway for Boca? I didn't hear anything good or bad which usually means bad.

Juve really do need to buy someone. Pretty much anyone.

From what I've read he was mostly steady, rather than being a consistent difference-maker.

Yeah Kalanic going for 25 and Valero going for what now? Was it even 10 million?

We need and good fullbacks and I hope we do get him if on loan if anything.

I don't know if this is real, but I choose to believe it is. So it's real.

I'm gonna claim soulex autocorrect because I swear I've been typing Kalinic this whole time.

That might actually be real. I work with an Albanian guy who told me about the team, the whole city is basically Albanian despite being in Macedonia and they are mostly all Milan fans. The word "Shkendija" means "spark" in Albanian apparently, and the club was formed as something of a link to Albania for the people that live there. Their ultras seem insane also, very political which is no surprise.

Has anyone said Juve merda yet? Sempre Juve merda!

Also, there's talk in Polish media about Milik leaving Napoli.

I'm hearing Matuidi is close, sounds like it would be a decent buy but honestly I haven't watched him much.

Fiorentina got a leftback from Pescara so Antonelli is probably a no go.

Roma might get Mor which seems logical.

Badelj amazingly says he wants to STAY. His agent has been replaced? So maybe it was just his agent doing poo poo.

Also I write Kalanic but it autos to Kalanic sometimes. It's loving weird.

It just did lol.

From what I read Antonelli himself refused the move. He's probably on a big contract - I can't imagine he wants to remain a bench player in a World Cup year.

People look at us like a step down. Same reason Rincon didn't come with Bernadeschi.

And yeah it did. What the gently caress is that.

This is looking like it's done. I haven't watched him much either but it's a midfield signing, and he did start for PSG, right? At 20 mil in this market, that's a bit of a bargain imo.

Yeah on paper he seems like the type of midfielder Juve are missing - a lot of people I follow on Twitter say he's fallen off in the past couple of years, haven't seen him enough to know whether that's accurate or not.

Ask me about Game Pass: the Best Deal in Gaming!
That's a weird move to me because I don't see PSG giving up someone actually good at the moment, especially for that price. However I've been told Matuidi is good but then again I don't watch french football (lol could you imagine) so I really don't know.

I'm not worried about his current form, Juve's history of making old castoffs work well is reassuring. I think he will be fine.

Looks like we finally closed for Simeone (fingers crossed) and are about to close for Pezzella of Betis (center back). I'm expecting a big signing up front still but I think we have a solid, very young base to start building a new cycle now.

Including the ability to play up front with 75% famous sons - Hagi Chiesa behind Simeone.

He's fallen off a bit, but at his peak was probably the best midfielder of his type that France had - if he's got plenty left in the tank Juventus will get it out of him.

Didn't Hagi go out on loan? Figliorentina looking pretty legit though.

Antognelli came out and pretty much said "give the kids time"

Probably gonna be a rough start.
