I remember some racial humor from R&F back in the day but as I’ve been re-listening to the XM stint from the beginning it gets really rough at times. Ron finally starts reining it in on the callers after the first Christmas at XM it feels.

Its the one-two punch of Patrice giving a sincere explanation and then CK going with the sudden punchline. Also, unlike most racial humor that happens in the shows, there was almost no regard for the definition/nuance of that word. It's abstract because the word itself is funny and taboo, especially within the rhythm of how all that played out. I often think back on Bob Kelly's 'Where we goin'?!' bit where he played as a catchphrase comedian, and Ant continuously barking in as someone who just wanted to do racial stuff. It was drawn out and clearly the intended idea was someone (Ant) yelling 'THOSE people suck, right?!', which is just tedious.
