Due to me living in the middle of nowhere, I will likely not get Ys 8 in the mail until a few days after it comes out so I would just like to wish everyone else getting it a good time with one of the worst localizations in recent history. Also the PC port is garbage apparently.

Plus even setting story aside those games always have great self aware goofs with Dogi and other side characters which will probably be lost in how lifeless they all are now.

Olivier is pretty openly bisexual and the only sort of panic moment that series has is in the first game from a character who has had a pretty sheltered life and is in the middle of a coming of age journey at the end of which shes totally fine with it cause she's a bit more world wise. Then there's ya girl Angelica Rogner who has a straight up mech fight with her dad so he'll be okay with her being gay. It's good.

I'm at area two and I'm loving it so far. I just spent last week 100%ing all the other 2d games am2r included and this controls fine imo.

Like an actual complaint about the game is it should let you customize whether missiles/spider ball is a toggle instead of a hold because I never liked holding in the gba games and the shoulder buttons on the 3ds are much less comfortable than the ones on gba were.

Samus Returns is very good but if it had customizable controls for d pad movement and toggle/hold settings for missiles and spiderball it'd be

You enter fighting game inputs and can pull off fighting game moves in a turn based system. The magic is this weird mishmash of final fantasy summoning and pokemon where you can capture monsters you fight and then summon them for spells. It was a dope game, it should be on PSN if it isn't already.

Big companies will sometimes shell out for french dubbing and text ingame to guarantee sales though.
