Lazy peoples newest update link here: Days 106-111 Welcome to Battle Brothers It's a strange journey from X-Com to Battle Brothers but the strategy calls to me. This will be a bit more casual of an LP than X-Com but if you followed me you may know what to expect. I will do my best to demonstrate and explain all the mechanics you need to know to survive and do well in the game. This time the LP will be a hybrid LP, there is a lot of potential wondering around and management time that doesn't need to be put in video and I intend to put it into screenshot form to make things neater. The battles will be in video with post commentary. The battles have great audio design and I think it'd be a waste to screen shot it. It also lets me talk with my co-commentator about the game and it shows off the flow of battle better. I am aiming for one update a week, probably on the weekends. What is Battle Brothers? Battle Brothers is a turn based strategy RPG mix which has you leading a mercenary company in a gritty, low-power, medieval fantasy world. You decide where to go, whom to hire or to fight, what contracts to take and how to train and equip your men in a procedurally generated open world campaign. Do you have what it takes to lead them through bloody battles and to victory? The game consists of a strategic worldmap and a tactical combat layer. On the worldmap you can freely travel in order to take contracts that earn you good coin, find places worth looting, enemies worth pursuing or towns to resupply and hire men at. This is also where you manage, level up and equip your Battle Brothers. Once you engage a hostile party the game will switch to a tactical map where the actual fighting takes place as detailed turn based combat.  For fame and fortune! Who knows what will await us on the road? Will we be a famed company fighting to keep the lands safe from orcs and brigands or will fortune frown upon us and will we resort to banditry ourselves just to make sure no brother goes hungry? The paths and choices we can make are many and varied and the actions we do take may influence the world. Will we be the shield that protects a growing hamlet, or will we be the torch that razes a rivals farm? Maybe such questions are better left for a later time. For now we will need men with strong arms and strong backs to fight for hard earned coins. Who will throw in their lot to this end, to fight and bleed for coin?  So join me, brothers! We have much to see and do. Sign the contract and begin a new life of blood and glory. To start things off I have one recorded video. It shows the start and brief tutorial of the game. This is recorded solo and won't be in the usual format for the LP. This is for people that have never seen the game and shows the natural play of the game before I start chopping it up into screenshots and only show the battles in video. This is just an intro and gives me something to post before the LP gets properly started and lets people sign up before the first real post.  The adventures of the First Post! I've done Steel Soul and Glass Soul, I know the game better than I know what's currently piled on my desk in front of me and I can't fathom anything in the game that has a connection to that. edit: wait is it because rancid eggs kinda look like pineapple (except squishy on the outside)?

Herpicle survived his own LP of the game (by not being a character), survived Elpato's LP of the game (by becoming more permanently crippled after every battle) and is likely to not survive this LP of the game thanks to karma.
