There was a bit in the current are where there was a .5 microsecond AI war bookended at each end by characters in machine time trying to clear meat-brain civilians from the collateral damage area which was actually really good, but all intensity was spoiled by stopping to tell a couple of Dad jokes on the weekends.

Then there's the fact that the entire movie centers around a group of rebels reclaiming their own physical bodies from social system that holds them in literal bondage, and gaining incredible freedom (and superpowers) by awakening to the true reality of what they really are.

It ended in 2012 (with an epilogue!) and was succeeded by Does Not Play Well With Others, which apparently still updates semi-regularly but which I don't read. Weirdly, Poe seems to be one of the only old-guard webcomic "artist" types who didn't fall into the porn thing, which I would not have predicted at all.

I really want the physical book because it’s such a bizarre artifact: a kickstarted print book of the script pages of a stolen sprite webcomic. It’s like a wax cylinder recording of a Lincoln speech, or something. There is exactly one place in time and space such a thing could exist, and this is it.

He also went ludicrously, in-advisedly all in on Obama early on, and put all his mental eggs in the Hope and Change and Occupy Wall Street baskets. When that wave broke and receded in 2016, the overall readbility of the strips really took a massive nose-dive right away, and pretty soon Bilderberg and Illuminati references started showing up as the disillusionment took hold. The descent into SWERFdom was gradual, but he clearly crack-pinged in a major way when Trump showed up, despite never really acknowledging Trump very much in the strip.
