I think the point is more that other countries used their lockdowns to build infrastructure for testing, treatment, and contact tracing. We're two months in with none of that because we don't have a functioning government.

Right. I just think it's important to differentiate between chuds demanding things open up immediately and people lamenting the fact that we wouldn't be here if we weren't a failed state.
