Peoria and Springfield are 2 places that have job opportunities for my wife... I used to live near Edwardsville. Enlighten me about life in these cities.

Can't wait to see the exponential spike a couple weeks after schools open. There's a teacher (and kid probably, too) out there getting ready (or being forced to go back) for the school year that won't make it out alive. That sucks.

Oracle posted:Most subs are either retired teachers or people with bachelors degrees who can’t find another job. I’m struggling to think of a member of either who’s not a total chud who would risk their health or lives for the 80 dollars a day they pay subs once teachers start dropping like flies. Hey now... Some districts have upped sub pay to over $100 a day. Going to be awesome when a sub visits 3 or 4 schools in a week, then tests positive on Friday!

I spent two hours reading all 700+ pages of the drat thing and didn't see anything remotely outlandish all because people on my FB feed were spouting insane stuff about it. That's what I'm talking about. The Facebook mob is in high gear. They claim police in IL are now almost powerless. Ex Police can't physically remove someone from trespassing on my property, only a ticket. Police can only issue a ticket instead of detaining someone in many instances was the gist of it. I usually see friends on both sides argue stuff like this but I haven't seen anyone in favor of it.
