Hey! Long time since I posted. I could finally afford my first MIDI keyboard (a launchkey mini) and decided to go on a different adventure with my next set of songs. Plenty of synths and percussion and influences. Just finished a new track called "Night Out" which is a...I dunno...Talking Heads tribute? Maybe a little Bowie? 3 tracks down so far. I'm in some freaky new territory, taking my music to a whole different playing field. Prior to this I did psychedelic folk music. Me and an old friend decided to put our heads together to try and build out some black/doom metal tracks as a duo. We just put out our first track late last night. I did voiceovers for video game characters previously, where I played mummies and ghouls and whatnot, so I figured I could do the black metal voice alright. But boy I killed my throat on this track and I didn't even sing that much. Assume it was the projecting that got me. I need to find some ways to adjust. But we tried to mix some atmospheric deathly soundscapes and then twist into a doom rhythm, ending with a spooky, empty soundscape. I have to admit that I had a ton of fun making the switch from acoustic to electric. It's such a new sound that it's really reinvigorated my interest in making music.
