Hey! Long time since I posted. I could finally afford my first MIDI keyboard (a launchkey mini) and decided to go on a different adventure with my next set of songs. Plenty of synths and percussion and influences. Just finished a new track called "Night Out" which is a...I dunno...Talking Heads tribute? Maybe a little Bowie? 3 tracks down so far. I'm having a blast! https://shiftershapes.bandcamp.com/album/side This is a big change from what I usually play. And I know that I'm going to try and marry my two styles after I get out of this sheer MIDI honeymoon phase. I was working on these tracks before (been going solo on music), but now that I've got the MIDI keyboard, I've also been getting more heavily invested in my mixing. https://shiftershapes.bandcamp.com/album/our-timid-and-timeless-middle-points Thanks for looking! Can't wait to listen to the other tracks in here as well! Found some great stuff on here in the past! Fiction D fucked around with this message at 03:48 on Aug 24, 2019 |

SuperiorToaster posted:Just released an album with a friend. It's dark ambient / noise / experimental. Synths and guitar recorded at my home studio just after it was completed. We focused on creating contrasting textures and then layering a few different performances until things solidified. Definitely some drone and doom elements too. It's been distributed digitally and is available on all streaming platforms. Digging this so far. It's exactly what I'm looking for right now. Love the light touches on top of that heavy crunch. It's dreamy!

I'm in some freaky new territory, taking my music to a whole different playing field. Prior to this I did psychedelic folk music. Me and an old friend decided to put our heads together to try and build out some black/doom metal tracks as a duo. We just put out our first track late last night. I did voiceovers for video game characters previously, where I played mummies and ghouls and whatnot, so I figured I could do the black metal voice alright. But boy I killed my throat on this track and I didn't even sing that much. Assume it was the projecting that got me. I need to find some ways to adjust. But we tried to mix some atmospheric deathly soundscapes and then twist into a doom rhythm, ending with a spooky, empty soundscape. I have to admit that I had a ton of fun making the switch from acoustic to electric. It's such a new sound that it's really reinvigorated my interest in making music. It's also just good to be collaborating again. In any case, have a listen! https://vileblood1.bandcamp.com/releases?fbclid=IwAR28u9IRXUyKODCk9IYedUjJv6S3lrseVeARstL83xsEnoSAGfP4B_4uP8M
