I honestly dont remember a lot of it. Saw it a long time ago. But I remember liking the theme of inevitability. In most fiction LOVE would FIND A WAY, but in life its more often the case that you find yourself powerless in the face of circumstances regardless of how good and pure your intentions are. I felt it mirrored this truth fairly well.

From what I recall, your critique is perfectly on point though.
