enojy posted:Hey real golf dorks, what's the use of topspin and backspin? I'm assuming topspin makes the ball roll further when landing, but backspin carries it higher/further through the air and bounce to a halt? Dunno if it carries the ball further through the air, but good backspin will make a ball literally move backwards after hitting the ground. So you'd shoot past the hole and let the ball roll back into it. Typically though, yeah, it's used to stop the ball dead in its tracks. Kaubocks posted:Apparently holding L/R while golfing are the buttons to add front and back spin to your swing. This is separate from pressing X to pinpoint where on the ball you want to hit it which alters the trajectory but doesn't add any spin to the ball. gently caress's sakes, this changes EVERYTHING.
