So if next week is the finale are they not going to play the Uber episode in the US?

I thought this show was so over-the-top insane and nearly impossible to describe to people who'd never heard of it in the previous seasons and this season is like that on steroids. I'm laughing hysterically for half the episode and watching in slack-jawed disbelief for the other half.

Rewatching old episodes and my god I forgot how amazing the petrol rebate episode is.
Somehow they end up in a tent playing spin the bottle and giving the dude marriage counselling while he talks about the health benefits of drinking urine. This show is just too good.

that's my favourite episode, it does a great job at making a skit into something more powerful

I love how at the end of the gas episode he is the only one to claim the rebate, even after he said he wanted to create the perfect rebate. It's like he couldn't resist it himself. it's a good reoccurring joke with how he'll spend all this money to help a business, but in the end want to get like a few bucks back. Like at the end of the Car Wash episode when he asks the owner to up the Employee of the Month Gift Card from $25 to $200

Yeah I've noticed in the first season Nathan really went out of his way to gently caress with people.
One of the best is the funeral home one where he tells the woman that usually people give him a present, but tells her not to worry as they have a backup present. It turns out to be a pair of scissors, then he asks her why she would get him such a strange gift.
Or when he asks the caricature artist to to do a mean drawing of him then gets really upset about the fact that it insulted his grandpa.

His grandpa in Heavan (sic). I laugh out loud every time with the generic Asian stereotypes and dudebro carrying the huge pill bottle of "date rape pills".

This most recent episode had some strong cringe with Nathan and the prostitute. I have to imagine that's an actress, because I don't think a real 'escort' in Little Rock, AK would want her questionably-legal business rubbed in the faces of law enforcement in a conservative area. But, I suppose it's free advertising for her, and she didn't break any laws on camera, so who knows.

How strange was it that Nathan seemed to drop the act for this episode? I mean, he still leaned into awkward moments whenever possible because, c'mon, it's Nathan For You, but for the most part all of his reactions seemed unusually genuine. But of course, because of the nature of this show, I still can't be sure whether he's still putting on an act, albeit a more subtle one, because it's TV and this is what he does better than anyone.

When he said that Bill was hard to read, it really sounded like the real Nathan, the one who puts on live shows and strategically picks out the most outrageous people to pull up on stage and interview based on subtle tells he picks up on.

I guess it would kind of go along with the "message" of this episode/documentary - that Nathan lives his life looking for opportunities to film things and it's maybe starting to gently caress with him...?

And yeah, all that escort stuff was so...I dunno, peculiar? He wasn't playing his normal, awkward self. He was bragging about his Comedy Central TV show and doing magic tricks, like really putting in an effort to impress this girl for real.

Fake edit: I was also very surprised that we didn't get an appearance from Brian Wolfe, PI, either to look for Frances or to do a background check on Bill. But I guess digital aging progression guy was enough

Hiring an escort to do some acting, then going out with the escort to not waste the money, then falling for the escort seems like a very Nathan thing to me.

What was the most uncomfortable scene out of:

1) Nathan forcing the couple to invite him to the wedding.

2) Saloman's makeup flirtation.

3) Nathan's hooker kiss

4) Anything else than needs to be on the list from this season???

I started the episode not knowing it was going to be extra long, and ... man. That was a ride. Bill's creepy, but looking at his younger picture made me wonder if he just thinks he's really cool and that's why he inflects the way he does. Dude thinks he's James Dean, and so he can be a little kooky.

The heartbreaking "I've been married 47 years and have 9 grandkids" or whatever Frances said made me sad. It's conflicting, because that's beautiful and all, but the Movie Watcher Me kind of hoped that he would run into the situation where they could be together. You hear 47 years and it's like... "yeah, let's just get out of here".

Also, 100%, the most awkward scene of the show is him kissing an escort. /R/Incel is hilarious and all, but the way they just held on the shot was cringe. Also, she saw the show. Who knows how much is acting, because she even pointed out "you lie to all these people". I was waiting for the awkward moment when Nathan would've asked not to pay for this date because they love each other, right? You aren't working right now... right?

I was physically squirming in my chair during the escort kissing scene, and think it was probably the most awkward part of the whole series. She was more self aware than just about anyone else on the show, and that self awareness made it uncomfortable. We know that her reaction to watching the show was thinking it was mean too, so she was probably always kind of wondering how the joke was at her expense.

That she saw the show actually made her scenes less cringey for me because it was easy to convince myself that she's in on the joke. Especially if she watched Nathan's flirtation with the actress from Souvenir Shop, which was the episode right after the Realtor episode that she said she watched.

But wow, the sincerity-to-gag ratio for that ep was the highest it's ever been on the show, and that made it unexpectedly great in a way different from other great Nathan episodes.

I think it made it less ethically dubious than the people who are lied to or misled, but more visibly awkward because she wasn't as oblivious or thrilled to be on camera as a lot of the other people on the show.

One of you guys should hire her and ask her for the deets on Nathan as a kisser or something. She's on tour, so maybe she'll be in your town soon.
