Sometimes the humor in the show comes from Nathan himself being ridiculous with people, sometimes it comes from the way the show is edited or narrated, and sometimes it comes from the people just spontaneously acting bizarre without too much prodding or intervention by Nathan. Over time the show has emphasized each of those more than the others, but I think the last type is always the best. Like the guy suddenly talking about drinking his grandson's pee.
